It didn’t look like a very inspiring day, with a forecast of cloud and light westerly winds due to turn southerly later in the day. Actually, it turned out to be rather nice, with the South bowl and Cwmdu valley working all day and gentle wave to 6000 ft amsl in the morning. New members Alex Lee and Nia Evans had good flights, as did the five trial lesson pupils. Peter Hadfield had two good flights in his Vega, and Brock filled his boots whizzing up and down the Cwmdu valley in a very nice glider. Also out were Geoff and Julie King, Clarkie and Tony Crowden, as well as the duty crew of me, Alan Cridge and Keith Richards.
Weekends are pretty quiet these days, and the club gliders have plenty of availability, not just the two-seaters, but also our two (soon to be three) single-seaters. So it’s a great time to come out and get some flying in before the nasty winter weather sets in!
